I disagree, a lot of music from the 80's has a rather empty symphony to it, as it is not overproduced. When was the last time you listened to Licensed to Ill? The lyrics, beats, and me thinking about an attractive 1980's Debbie Harry make it feel special for me.

Having graduated from HS in 1984, I agree with your assessment of a lot of 80s music. At the time, and even now, I am still rooted very much in the late 60s and 70s. But I heard Rapture on the Muzak at a store recently and it just made me laugh. As I said, it was an important song, just not one of my faves.
